National Police Service adds 100 Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up to their fleet

The National Police Service has received 100 brand-new Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up vehicles during a hand-over ceremony held at the Simba Corp Headquarters on Mombasa Road. As a presidential initiative by the Government of Kenya, The National Police Service has been actively modernizing its fleet enabling Government and Government agencies to take up the leasing of vehicles for their respective departments.

Speaking at the event, David Njagi, Chief Transport Officer said, “I recently visited AVA in Mombasa and I was pretty pleased with what I saw. We are delighted with the acquisition of a new fleet of vehicles. The Mahindra is a sturdy vehicle and we look forward to serving the nation in these vehicles. The nature of our work involves a lot of movement in these vehicles and we are happy to hear that Simba Corp will always be ready to service them.Our drivers have been trained and we would like to have continuous training sessions, considering that we have three driver shifts and all drivers need to be better equipped to handle the cars.”

Mehul Sachdev, Mahindra Product Manager stated, “Kenya is a strategic market for Mahindra in the African continent as this is the headquarter of East Africa operations. The Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up has more than 150,000 customers worldwide. This product comes with a 2.2l 4-cylinder M-hawk Turbo diesel engine with a new contemporary look that includes a restyled signature Mahindra Single Cab 4x4 front grille with chrome inserts. The vehicle has a large load box with a maximum payload of 1200 kg, and a braked towing capacity of 2500 kg making it a suitable and dependable team player for the police force”. In addition, “Simba Corp has a fully functional service center with trained personnel and will be able to service the entire fleet through its branches, dealers, and numerous service centers countrywide”, he added.

I am proud to say that the Mahindra Scorpio Pik up is also in use by other armed forces across the world and in a country like Mozambique alone, with 3,000 units in active service.

In March 2020, His Excellency the President Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, officially unveiled the first locally assembled Mahindra Scorpio at an event held at State House, Nairobi.

The President stated, “I have directed the National Treasury and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives to have discussions with financial institutions to create special products for locally assembled vehicles, and to make locally assembled vehicles more affordable and available to Kenyans,” said Kenyatta. This directive made it possible for the government to take up the leasing of vehicles.

Kenya Police’s Partnership with Simba Corp sees 30 New Proton X70 SUV’s added to Fleet

Nairobi, November 19th,2021: Simba Corp today officially handed over 30 brand new Proton X70 SUVs to the Kenya Police Service at a ceremony held at the Simba Corp Headquarters on Mombasa road. 

The Kenya Police Service over the last few years has been modernizing its fleet through the government leasing program.

Speaking at the event, Julius Sunkuli, Director logistics DCI said “We are happy to add to our fleet 30 new Proton X70’s; a very comfortable and versatile SUV that will be useful in maintaining law and order, and crime-fighting activities across the country. We have been leasing vehicles for some time now in an effort to increase efficiency in the police force which in turn ensures we are readily available to serve Kenyans.” 

Proton Product Manager, Faruk Alibhai, stated that the Proton X70 is a versatile vehicle with top-of-the-range features that make it a suitable vehicle for the police force. With a fully functional service centre with trained personnel, Simba Corp will be able to service the entire fleet at their 5 branches and numerous service centres countrywide. 

“Simba Corporation is a 100% Kenyan-owned business and we have been operating in Kenya for the last 57 years. We are proud to have currently been selling world-class brands alongside the Proton, including Mitsubishi, Fuso, Mahindra, and Same Tractors,” he added.

Uhuru Kenyatta, officially launched the Proton Saga in Kenya at the Associated Vehicle Assemblers(AVA)  plant in Mombasa. He was glad to mention that Kenyans can now purchase a brand new vehicle, at the same price as an 8 year old, secondhand vehicle.  The President lauded the move which also stimulates economic growth by creating jobs for Kenya’s youth.

SimbaCorp commences sales of the locally assembled Proton Saga

Simba Corp has today launched sales of the locally assembled Proton Saga saloon car.
Speaking at the Proton Saga Media launch event held at Aspire Centre, Westlands, Simba Corporation Group CEO, Dinesh Kotecha said, “We look forward to having the Proton Saga and indeed the Proton brand take the Kenyan market by storm because we believe that this is a solution that our customers have been waiting for and we have finally delivered.”

The Proton Saga is locally assembled at the Associated Vehicle Assemblers plant in Mombasa. It comes with a 5 year, 150,000KM warranty. Simba Corp has partnered with bank partners to make it easier for their customers to own this zero-mileage, high-value car. The Proton Saga also comes with a 4 star NCAP safety rating and will have over 50 service locations nationwide.

NCBA, Simba Corp sign asset finance deal

Nairobi, June 28^th,2021:

NCBA Bank Kenya PLC has today signed an asset finance deal with Simba Corp that will see the lender finance up to 95% of all commercial and personal vehicles sold by Simba Corp.

In a bid to ease the financial load in the current business environment, new and repeat customers will in addition enjoy discounted loan facility fees. The Small and Medium Enterprise sector, which is the largest employer in Kenya, will be the biggest beneficiary of this unique financing deal, which will run for six months.

The partnership will offer customers a 13% interest rate per annum on reducing balance over a maximum tenor of 60 months. In addition, customers will receive a grace period of 60 days after the vehicle release date before loan repayment.
